Elias (Eduard) Waas was a son of Salomon Waas and Hendrika Wolff.

Elias Waas was married. The couple had one child. The family lived in Heerlen. He was a hairdresser. Elias Waas carried out illegal work for the Dutch Communist Party (CPN). He was in charge of the sabotage work in The Hague and Rotterdam. He supplied weapons, ammunition and explosives. He was arrested on 29 October 1942, during a hand-over of explosives on the Hofplein in Rotterdam. On 30 December 1942, Elias Waas was condemned to death and on 6 February 1943 he was executed on the Leusderheide.
