Jacob Tobias Poppers (known as Jaap) was unmarried. He lived in Bussum. He worked as a sales representative and was active in the resistance, participating in attacks in Soesterberg and Amsterdam South. His effort to escape to England failed when the motor on his boat stalled. He was brought back by trawler and arrested outside Noordwijk. He was locked up at the Scheveningen prison . On 30 June he was executed by a firing squad on the Waalsdorpervlakte.
