Joseph Büschel was a son of Mendel Büschel and Regina Adelsberg. After he came to Holland from Essen in 1939, he lived in Amsterdam at several addresses but from January 1941 his address was Nieuwe Herengracht nr. 5, 2nd floor and since 19 February 1941 nr. 5, 1st floor.
There lived the family of Isidor Rabinowitsch, who was married on 7 January 1942 to the widow of Joseph Boas (who passed away in May 1937), Roosje Haamerslag, daughter of Juda Haamerslag and Leentje Nikkelsberg. In the Isidor Rabinowitsch family lived also the two daughters from the first marriage of Roosje Haamerslag and Joseph Boas.
Roosje Haamerslag in the end has survived the Holocaust.
From the marriage of Joseph Boas and Roosje Haamerslag two daughters were born: Leentje and Kitty Boas and with the latter, Joseph Büschel was married in Amsterdam on 15 July 1942. Kitty Boas has suvived the Holocaust, not her sister Leentje.
