Leendert Brilleman was a son of the merchant Simon Brilleman and of the deceased Mietje Pinto. Rebekka, a seamstress, was a daughter of the merchant Hijman Emmerik and of Heintje Ensel. Leendert Brilleman and Rebekka Emmerik were married at Westerbork transit camp on 5 July 1943. He was a peddler by trade.The parents of the bride attended the wedding; they signed the marriage certificate.
