Saartje de Vries was a daughter of Levie de Vries and Naatje Waterman. She married 17 January in Vianen Eduard Blanes, a son of Joseph Blanes and Jeannette Cohen. It is known that in 1922, a stillborn child was registered at the Civil Registry of Vianen.
Saartje was born into a family of eight children. All of them have been killed in the Shoah.
Saartje de Vries has been deported on 20 April 1943 from Mechelen to Auschwitz with Convoy XX (20), which arrived there on 22 April. Most likely was Saartje de Vries immediately killed upon arrival.
