Herta Tombowsky-Stern was a pupil in the Jewish Labour camp Wieringermeer. In 1941, she and her husband Herbert Tombowsky received dozens of cards and postcards. These have been preserved.

Herta Stern was born in the Oberste Strasse 7 in Burghaun.
Just before, or at the start of the occupation of The Netherlands Herta Tombowsky and her husband lived with a family in Almelo.
