Salomon Polak was married to Rosalia de Winter. The couple had five children, among whom: Johanna, Rachel and Henriette. Rosalia de Winter died on 24 February 1935.
Salomon Polak was an employee of textilecompany De Vries en Van Buuren in Amsterdam. His employer held office on the corner of the Jodenbreestraat and the Waterloo-square.
When Salomon Polak was taken away in 1943 the dock labourers who stood in front of his house at the Staalkade, saluted him. Of his five children, two survived the war.
