Rosette Ligtenstein was a daughter of Mozes Ligtenstein and Cornelia Schooning. She was one of nine children. Rosette Ligtenstein married Aron de Vries in Groningen on 24 November 1904. The couple had two children: Selma and Maurits Joost.
