Michaël Max Fuld went into hiding for some time with a family in The Hague. To avoid any further trouble for this family he departed for Switzerland at the end of 1942/beginning of 1943 while leaving his identity card behind. He was arrested in Belgium and deported to Auschwitz via Mechelen.
