Abraham van Loen and Marianne Lam had four children: Helena, Marcus and two children who survived the war. One of these children still lived at home.

Abraham van Loen was registered as a boarding house owner in 1941, but he was a diamondworker in Antwerp. After that, he had a delicatessen shop on the Kerkstraat in Amsterdam.
One of the boarders of his boarding house was Simon van Cleef.
