Alexander Koster was the youngest son of Abraham Salomon Koster. He was the only son of Abraham Koster and Keetje Cohen de Solla. At the start of the war, Alexander Koster was enrolled as mathematics-student at the Technische Hoogeschool in Delft.

In the summer of 1942 Alexander Koster was summoned to report in camp Westerbork. A day after he arrived in this transit-camp, he, his half-brother Maurits Koster and his wife Eva van Tijn were deported.
