Anna Marum was born in Frankenthal (Germany) as daughter of Karl Marum and Helena Mayer. She married Salomon Pfeffer in Bruchsal (Germany), who was born in Kobilyn and the couple had two children together, namely Karl Heinz in 1906 and Paul Ernst in 1910.
20 February 1939 Anna and Salomon arrived from Düsseldorf in Laren, where they lived at Engweg 10 and in 1940 at nr. 16, where also their children Karl Heinz (with his family) and Paul Ernst lived. March 1941 they moved with their son Paul Ernst to Legrasweg 12 in Laren, where Salomon Pfeffer passed away 6 September 1941. He was interred at the Algemene Begraafplaats in Laren.
After the passing of her husband, Anna Moved 4 May 1942 to Oude Schans 90 2nd floor in Amsterdam, were up from August 1942 also Karl Heinz with his wife and two children came to live in. According information at her registration card of the Jewish Council, she was “exempted (gesperrt) from deportation as mother of K.H. Pfeffer, working in Westerbork”; per 3 March at the Algemende Dienst (Public Service) and per 6 May 1943 she was sent to Tehuis Oosteinde in Amsterdam (part of the Jewish Council) as a seamstress. From there, she was deported to Camp Westerbork 26 May 1943 where she had to stay in barack 58.
Eventually Anna Pfeffer-Marum was put on transport 14 September 1943 to Theresienstadt and from there deported to Auschwitz 9 October 1944 where she has been killed immediately upon arrival there 11 October 1944.
