Isaäc Lessing appears on a handwritten list of all persons who held offices in the Dutch-Jewish community of Haarlem during the early years of the war. Photographs remain of each official. Isaäc Lessing served on the congregation council the Dutch-Jewish Community of Haarlem, the general board of the Dutch-Jewish Joles Hospital and the board of synagogue trustees and chaired the religious institution Gemieloeth Chassadiem and was treasurer of the orphans' fund Abie Jethomiem.
Isaäc Lessing was unmarried. He lived at 12 Jansstraat in Haarlem.
