Elisabeth Kuijper was a daughter of Hartog Mozes Kuijper and Elisabeth Gotlib, who had a family with twelve children and lived in Grave. She married Levie Polak from Steenwijk on 17 November 1889 in Groningen, a son of Benjamin Polak and Rebekka van der Velde. The couple had two children: Rebekka, who was married to Comprecht Cohen from Delfzijl and Hartog who married Hanna Cutzien. Elisabeth's husband, Levie Polak passed away in Groningen, aged 79, on 2 October 1937 and Elisabeth self deceased on 29 January 1943 in Groningen, 81 years old.
From the family of Elisabeth's parents, nine children have died already before the war. One brother survived the Holocaust a few years but her brother Herman Kuijper, who was married to Bertha Meijer, has been killed in Sobibor on 13 March 1943.
