Izaäk Rosenbaum was a son of Ephraim Izaäk Levie Rosenbaum and Judik Israels. He came from a large family, that considered education as something very important. He found it important to move to Groningen when his son Ephraim Izak Levie went to university there. During the war he gave all his prayer books to neighbours, who returned them safely to a surviving grandchild. He was a merchant with land. Many people owed him money.
