Annie Dorothea Richter arrived in The Hague as a German refugee on 8 August 1939. She moved to Gouda, where she lived at 31 Sophiastraaat. She worked the night shift as a nurse at the Centraal Tehuis voor Israëlieten in Nederland, a Jewish home for the elderly in Gouda.
