Eleazar Blei Weissman was unmarried. He was a Secondary School teacher in Political Sciences and also worked as a civil servant in the town clerk's office in The Hague. Under the pseudonym Eduard van Wijk, he co-operated on the illegal publication 'De Gids' and he was involved with the distribution of the publication 'Toekomst'. In reprisal for an attack on an SS officer, he was picked up on 8 February 1945 and executed on 20 February 1945 under his pseudonym Eduard van Wijk against the wall of the building 'Industry and Trade' on the Coolsingel in Rotterdam.
