Benjamin Jozeph Stranders was a son of Nathan Simon Stranders and Elisabeth (Betje) den Hartog. He married on 11 May 1892 in Rotterdam to Elizabeth van Straaten. The couple had five children: Nathan (who survived the Holocaust), Henriette (who died only 4 years old), Hartog, Elizabeth and Samuel.
