Joseph Winkel and Sara Poons married on 25 February 1903 in Den Haag. Joseph was a son of Samuel Winkel and Naatje Fresco, Sara a daughter of Meijer Poons and Antje Bobbe. The couple had five children: Samuel, Meijer, Jonas, Barend and Anna.
