Dina Marcus Deen was a daughter of Marcus Deen and Vrouwtje Meijer van Kreveld. She was a playschool teacher. According to tradition she had soft, friendly eyes and a lot of appeal to children. She lived with her mother in the Majubastraat in Amsterdam until she got married.
