The Police Commissioner of Arnhem requested that Abraham de Vries, a pharmacist living at 16 Koningstraat in Arnhem, be located, detained and brought to trial. He was suspected of having changed his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
In October 1942, another search notice appeared. The Sicherheitspolizei in The Hague requested Abraham de Vries be located and detained.
