Mozes van der Sluis and Grietje Roos were married in Westerbork transit camp on 26 February 1943. He had been married before to Betje Roos; this marriage ended in divorce. Mozes, an export butcher, was a son of export butcher Salomon van der Sluis and the deceased Eva Roos. Grietje Roos, a bookkeeper, was a daughter of Abraham Roos and Sara Frank, both deceased. At the marriage ceremony Mozes van der Sluis declared to acknowledge paternity of two children of Grietje Roos, namely Alfred and Harry Roos.
