About Eduard Herman van Hessen

Eduard (Eddy) Herman van Hessen married on 1 April 1942. Together with his wife Maria Elisabeth de Haan, he went into hiding on a ship for inland navigation. After approximately one year they had to go into hiding separately elsewhere. Both of them were eventually arrested and deported. When the war started Eddy was a young violin player who had recently graduated from the academy of music. According to tradition he was a very funny man, a good musician and a gifted amateur photographer.
His wife suvived the Holocaust.
