David Gobets was a son of Jacob Gobets and Betje Barend. He married 29 September 1937 in Amsterdam to Keetje Soubice, a daughter of Meijer Soubice and Heintje Baske.
David and Keetje had one child together.
David was born in a family with ten children, of whom four children have died before the war. His other siblings, namely Rebecca, Judith, Abraham, Sophia and Catharina have been killed during the Holocaust.
