Levie Gans was a son of Hartog Gans and Sara Sluijs. In the 1920's he lived in Atwerp, where he got married to Sophia Cardozo in 1922. The couple had one child which survived the Holocaust.
During the war Levie Gans and Sophia Cardozo were deported on 8 September 1942 with Convoy 8 to Auschwitz through the transit camp Mechelen and killed upon arrival in Auschwitz . Their child managed to escape to Spain and survived the war.
