Jetje Gottfriedt was a daughter of Philip Gottfriedt and Jacoba Johanna Bierman. She married Nieken in 1916 in Emmen. They divorced in 1921 in Winschoten. They had a son Jakob Frederik, who passed away in 1924 in Groningen at the age of six.
