Margaretha Nova was a daughter of George Nova and Clara Gobets. She married Meijer van Velzen on 16 March 1921 in Amsterdam, a son of Salomon van Velzen and Dina Verdoner. Together they had six children, of whom four have survived the Holocaust. However, her son Salomon and daughter Clara have been killed in the Shoah.
