Hermine Fischer was a daughter of Alouis Fischer and Anna Gans. She was married to Joseph Mozes Son from Rotterdam, a son of Mozes Joseph Son and Henrietta Bosman. The couple had three children: Maurice Joost, Alouis Herman and Henriette Anne Clara, who survived the war.
Joseph Mozes Son passed away in Rotterdam on 15 March 1927 and his widow Hermie Fischer – after still several relocations – had her official residence per 27 June 1936 at Nieuwe Binnenweg 324c, where she lived until her death.
Also Hermine Fischer fell victim of the bombardment on Rotterdam of 14 May 1940, but she was found dead only on 22 May 1940 at the address of her son Maurice Joost Son at Meent 85, (probably under the rubble). In addition to her son, her granddaughter Anita Jos and a maid-servant also died at this address.
The deceased family members Son were burried that same day (22 May) in plot GG (common grave) at Crooswijk. The servant-maid was mentioned in the register of Crooswijk and for her an obituary was drawn up. Further investigations has not yielded her death certificate so far.
Her daughter-in-law Edith Hirsch and grandson Joost Maurice Jos survived the bombardment. They were evacuated to Amsterdam where they found shelter with uncle Leo Gottschalk and his wife at Amsteldkade 167. At the end of December 1940 they were able to leave the Netherlands for Argentina and have survived the war.
