About Rebekka Weil-Weil

Rebekka Weil from Schmieheim (Baden, Germany) was a daughter of Max Weil and Esther Günzburger. She was married on 17 June 1890 in Schmieheim to Mozes Weil, who had been deceased on 29 July 1923 in Offenburg. The couple had a daughter Claris, born in 1893 in Offenburg and who was married to Gustav Hirsch from Frankenwinheim (Bavaria).

Rebekka emigrated to The Netherlands and resided at the Centraal Israelitisch Oude Mannen- en Vrouwenhuis (Israëlitic elderly home) at Oosthaven 31 in Gouda. On the evening of Friday 9 April 1943 Rebekka, the staff and the sick residents of Misjenet Zekeniem were picked up and taken directly to Westerbork. On 20 April 1943 Rebekka was deported from Westerbork to Sobibor, where she has been killed immediately upon arrival there on 23 April 1943.
