About Hedwig Helene Apfelbaum

Hedwig Helene Apfelbaum from Furth was a daughter of Samuel Apfelbaum and Regina Schwarzhaupt. She was married to Julius Reis from Furth, who resided in Nurnberg. At any time before 1940 she emigrated to The Netherlands and lived with her husband Julius Reis at A.G. de Vrijestraat 18 in Gouda.

On 10 April 1943 Hedwig Helene and her husband were taken from Gouda to Westerbork where they stayed in barack 57. On 11 January 1944 they were both deported from Westerbork to Bergen Belsen, where he succumbed on 30 December 1944 and she eventually lost her life on 13 February 1945.
