Meijer de Lieme was a son of Nathan de Lieme and Jantje or Jansje Manheim. He married Anna Rachel Italie in Lemmer on 1 September 1897, a daughter of Asser Italie and Sophia Eckstein. The couple had four children, of whom two have died in infancy, only a few months old. The other two children of Meijer and Anna Rachel were Jansje and Herman Isidor. Both have been killed in the Shoah.
Meijer de Lieme was a cantor in among others the Joodse Invalide in Amsterdam. But he was also a merchant and a commercial traveller in paperware. At Nieuwe Prinsengracht in Amsterdam he had his business, a trade in rope and paper.
According the registration card from the Archive of the Jewish Counci, he has arrived in Camp Weseterbork on 17 April 1943 and ten days later, on 27 April 1943 deported to Sobibor. Upon arrival there on 30 April 1943 he has been killed immediately. Also his wife Anna Rachel Italie was killed there, together with her husband Meijer de Lieme.
