Eva Degen was a daughter of Marcus Degen and Sientje van der Glas. She was unmarried and seamstress by trade and she lived at home with her parents at Van Ostadestraat 377 in Amsterdam. Eva's brother Louis was a diamond trader and he was married in 1937 to Rebecca Berger. For unknown reasons, Eva Degen was already sent to Camp Westerbork on 17 July 1942, from where she has been deoported a few days later, on 21 July to Auschwitz. Eventually she has been killed there on 30 September 1942. Her parents were killed 2 April 1943 in Sobibor and her brother, his wife and little son in Sobibor too, just one week later, on 9 April 1943.
