Sientje van der Glas was a daughter of Jochem van der Glas (1855-1939) and Elsje Bonnewit (1853-1932). She married 24 Maart 1915 in Zaandam Marcus Degen, a son of Levie Degen and Eva Bleekveld. The couple had two children, namely Louis and Eva, who both have been killed in the Shoah.
Sientje and her husband Marcus have been registered in Camp Westerbork on 27 Maart 1943, stayed in barack 63 and were a few days later, on 30 March deported to Sobibor, where they were killed immediately upon arrival there on 2 April 1943.
Sientje van der Glas had three other sisters and one brother: two of her sisters have died before the war. Her sister Margaretha however and her brother Isaac (Sjaak) did not survive the Holocaust too.
