THE CHILDREN MEIJER FROM BORCULO.  1917-1926

These are the children of Ida and Levie (Louis) Meijer-Meijer from Borculo, the Netherlands. Ida and Levie had five  children, one of which died at age 6 (Meijer) of a disease and the four others perished between 1942-1944.

This orthodox family lived in a large house on the Muraltplein 14 in Borculo.  A professional photographer rented a room in their house. He photographed the children Meijer yearly, placing their photographs in his store window in order to attract customers who wanted portraits of their children. The numerous photographs of the Meijer family were found in a suitcase in the attic after the war.
