About Bernhard Bär

Bernhard Bär, born in Bruchsal (Germany) was a son of Leopold Bär and Fanny Kahn from Gemmingen. He married 16 March 1927 in Rotterdam to Saartje Walg, a daughter of Levie Walg and Johanna Cateau Walg. The couple had one daughter, Käthe Bertha. She has been killed in Sobibor, just as her parents. Bernhard Bär resided in Rotterdam since 1922.

On 10 April 1943, the Bernhard Bär family has been registered in Camp Westerbork, where they stayed in barack 57. On 27 April 1943 they have been deported to Sobibor, where they have been killed immediately upon arrival there on 30 April 1943.

Bernhard had an elder sister, Sophie Bär, who lived at Blaricum; also she has been killed during the Shoah in Auschwitz.
