Betje Caneel from Oisterwijk was a daughter of Emanuel Caneel and Clara van Dam. From an unknown relation, she had a daughter named Caroline Caneel, born in Woensel in 1909, who married in 1931 Philippus Hartog.
Betje Caneel was registered in Camp Westerbork as unmarried and stayed in barack 36. On 13 April 1936 she was deported to Sobibor were she was killed immediately upon arrival there on 16 April 1943.
