About Liebe Pen and her husband Alter Goldberg

Libe Chara Pen (Liebe) was a daughter of Abraham Pen and Gasja Taksitzky. On 17 April 1914 also Minna Pen’s sister Liebe arrived in Rotterdam. She was born in 1890 in Vilnius and lived in with Max and Minna Pinhachik and worked as shopgirl. At some point she left Rotterdam for London where she stayed for four years and was registered again in the Peoples Registry of Rotterdam per 12 September 1929, together with Alter Goldberg, born in 1874 in Lodz, to whom she meanwhile was married. After resided some months in Den Haag, the couple returned to Rotterdam where they stayed at various addresses. Per 25 June 1938, they lived at Hoveniersdwarsstraat 3a in Rotterdam, but according their registration cards of the Jewish Council, their last known address was Paul Krugerstraat 118 b in Rotterdam. The couple had no children.

On 17 September 1942 they were both registered in Camp Westerbork and deported to Auschwitz on 21 September and upon arrival there, Liebe Pen and her husband Alter Goldberg were killed immediately on 24 September 1943.
