Isaac van Rijs, son of Abraham van Rijs and Rebecca Hakker, married Heintje Bosboom 15 September 1903 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Mozes Salomon Bosboom and Vogel van der Glas. Isaac's parents have died already before the war in Den Haag; his mother in 1933 and his father in 1935. Isaac and Heintje had two children: Vogelina and Abraham. Both have been killed in the Shoah.
As far as have been researched, Isaac van Rijs had two other siblings; a brother Mozes, who was married to Leentje Raap en a sister Dora, who was married to Simon Fresco. Also they were killed in the Holocaust.
Isaac and Heintje have resided in Den Haag and Rotterdam, where their last address was Spoorsingel 72 b. At som point they were sent from there to Camp Westerbork. On 12 October 1942 they were both deported to Auschwitz and upon arrival there on 15 October, Isaac van Rijs and Heintje Bosboom were immediately killed.
