Marianne Driels from Emden (Germany) was a daughter of Mozes Hartog Driels and Jettchen (Jenny) Jacob Wohl. She was married to Moses Leonhard Hirschtick from Hannover, a son of Hirsch Hirschtick and Jette Apfelbaum and resided in Hilversum at Koninginneweg 84.
Her father Mozes Driels wsa born into a large family; there were twelve children. Descendants of a brother of her father came to Holland and married there: Nathan Driels, married to Lina Mai became the father of Frieda Driels, who was married to Eliazer Drielsma from Leeuwarden and Rozette Driels, sister of her father Mozes and uncle Nathan, was married to Abraham van Coevorden from Groningen. There was also an unmarried second-niece Else Driels, who lived in Amsterdam since 1938, a daughter of Moritz Driels, granddaughter of Nathan Driels, a brother of her father.
Marianne Driels was registered in Camp Westerbork 26 Juli 1943 and stayed in barack 67. 24 August she was deported to Auschwitz and upon arrival there 27 Autgust 1943 immediately killed. Her husband Moses Leonhard Hirschtick was registered some days later, 31 Juliy but also deported 24 August to Auschwitz and upon arrival there 27 August 1943 immeditately killed.
