At the archive card of the City Archive of Amsterdam of Joseph van der Star, the following is among others registered:
- that he and his family have moved 18 May 1943 from Karel du Jardinstraat 80 3rd stock to Transvaalstraat 55 I. (see residence card Transvaalstraat 55 Amsterdam)
- that he and his family have died in Auschwitz 13 November 1942 - register A64-fol96v.
According registration cards of the Jewish Counci, Joseph van der Star, his wife Roosje Gaarkeuken and son Abraham arrived in Camp Westerbork 8 November 1942, deported to Auschwitz 10 November where they all were killed 13 November 1942. Their Jewish Council registration cards list only as last known and official address Karel du Jardinstaat 80 3rd stock in Amsterdam
If this family was killed 13 November 1942, they never could have moved in May 1943.
Reply from the City Archive of Amsterdam: the removal at the card is an official removal. There is a possibility that the family has been deported earlier, but that this information was given to the Municipal Registry by mistake or that the Municipal Registry this information has mistaken. Many cards show dates of death earlier than dates of deportation.
Despite notes on the archive card of Joseph van der Star and at the residence card of Transvaalstraat 55 with note Joseph van der Star lived there with 3 persons since May 1943, there is no question of a removal in 1943.
