Isaac van Gelderen, insurance agent, was a son of Gabriel van Gelderen and Flora Harpman. He married 17 June 1942 in Amsterdam to Mirte Kaufman from Berbesti (Romania), a daughter of Moise Kaufman and Rosa Fischman.
Isaac van Gelderen lived in Rotterdam at Noordsingel 210 a, but after his marriage he moved to Amsterdam, 2e Boerhavestraat 40 down floor. 14 October 1942 Isaac van Gelderen was deported to Camp Westerbork and on his registration card is made a note that “he has died in camp Amersfoort, due to thrombosis”. His wife Mirte – despite her exemption according list nr. 4 – was deported to Auschwitz 19 October 1942 and upon arrival there 22 October 1942 immediately killed.
