The fate of Emanuel Neter, Leentje Neter-Smeer and their children Reina and Andries.

Emanuel Neter and Leentje Smeer married 17 August 1932 in Amsterdam. Emanuel Neter was a tailor and son of Samuel Neter and Leentje Roeg. Leentje was the daughter of Azor Smeer and Sara Cohen. After their marriage the couple lived shortly in Amsterdam but from 14 June 1934 till 18 December 1939 the couple lived in Den Haag, Antheunisstraat 16. Since 18 Decembet 1939 they lived again in Amsterdam at Ruyschstraat 104 1st stock. Their daughter Reina was born in 1933 in Amsterdam, their son Andries in 1936 in Den Haag.

The family decided to go into hiding but pesumably by treason, all family members were arrested and deported to concentration camp Vught, where they arrived 26 Mei 1943. The children Reina, 9 years old and Andries, 7 years old have been deported 7 June 1943 with the so-called children transport from Vugh to Westerbork and from there 8 June to Sobibor. Upon arrival there 11 June 1943, Reina and Andries were immediately killed. In that same transport, their mother Leentje Neter-Smeer has accompanied her children and she too has been killed in Sobibor 11 June 1943.

According notes made at Emanuel Neter's registration card from the Jewish Council, it has been appeared that he too arrived in Camp Vught 26 May 1943, toghether with his family, but that he was deported 15 November 1943 from Vught via Westerbork to Auschwitz. Eventually - according the Municipality of Den Haag - Emanuel Neter ended up in concentrationcamp Dachau where he lost his life 11 May 1945.
