Biography

About Adelina van Buuren-Sigaar.

Adelina Sigaar was a daughter of Meijer Sigaar and Sara de Leeuwe. She married 12 August 1942 in Amsterdam Hartog van Buuren from Hoensbroek, a son of Sallie van Buuren and Eva Zilverberg. Adelina lived at home with her parents at Transvaalstraat 82 II in Amsterdam and also her husband Hartog lived with his parents at Tugelaweg 98 downfloor.

Adelina had two siblings: Isidoor and Martha. Isidoor lost his life somewhere in Mid Europe and Martha was killed in Sobibor. Adelina’s father passed away in Amsterdam and her mother Sara de Leeuwe was also killed in the Shoah.

The registration card of Adelina van Buren-Sigaar does not mention date and time of her arrest and deportation to Camp Westerbork but presumably she was brought in the camp between 3 and 5 October 1942. She was put on transport to Auschwitz 26 October 1942, toghether with her husband Hartog van Buuren, and upon arrival there 29 October 1942 immediately killed.
