Selma (1913) and David Salomon Lievendag (1920) were children of Willem Lievendag and Mietje van Gelder. They had also a sister Rosetha, who has married her cousin Salomon Siegfried Lievendag. Their father Willem died already 4 July 1923 in Enschede, but their mother, Mietje van Gelder has been killed in Auschwitz 26 October 1942.
At the time of the obligatory registration of all Jews in The Netherlands, early 1941, Selma en David Salomon lived together in Rotterdam at Frank van Borselenstraat 20 a. The deportations In Rotterdam started 30 July 1942. David Salomon did not wait to be called for “provision of additional work in Germany under police supervision”. He hasn’t been deported and survived the Shoah. According notes on his registration card fof the Jewish Council, it appeared that he has emerged in Belgium 11 June 1945. That same date, also his two cousins, Jennie Jeannette Lievendag and Bertha Lievendag emerged in Belgium .
However Selma Lievendag has been deported at the same time as her sister Rosetha, who was married to her cousin Salomon Siegfried Lievendag and who lived at Frank van Borselenstraat 18a. Selma Lievendag, Rosetha and Salomon Siegfried were transferred to Westerbork 31 July 1942, put on transport 3 August and eventually killed too in Birkenau 1 September 1942.
