Louis van Dijk, butcher by trade, was a son of Heijman van Dijk and Klaartje Hoos. He married Rachel Tas in Amsterdam on 29 March 1922, a daughter of Eliazer Tas and Eva Lamon. In 1925 their daughter Klaartje was born.
Louis and Rachel went living after their wedding at Schiedijk 66 in Rotterdam. His wife Rachel Tas however passed away 15 January 1938 in the Jewish Hospital at Schietbaanlaan 42 in Rotterdam. She has been interred in the Jewish Cemetery Toepad in Rotterdam.
After the passing of Rachel Tas, Louis married again Heintje Jacobs, a daughter of Simon Jacobs and Grietje Altenberg. They went living at Claes de Vrieselaan 13 a in Rotterdam.
Louis van Dijk, his daughter Klaartje and his wife Heintje Jacobs have been deported from their address in Rotterdam to Westerbork where they arrived between 3 and 5 October 1942. On 16 October they were all put on transport to Auschwitz and on arrival there 19 October 1942 immediately killed.
