Abraham Hartog, son of Simon Hartog and Saartje Abraham Meijer, was born 3 October 1869 in Woudrichem into a family with 7 children, namely Jansje, Jacob, Leentje, Jozeph, Levie, Elisabeth and Abraham self. Only Jozeph survive the war - he died in 1949. Levie and Elisabeth died respectively in 1917 and 1913 but Jansje, Jacob, Leentje and Abraham self have died during the Holocaust.
On 22 August 1923 Abraham married at the age of 53 in Rotterdam the non-Jewish Catharina Simons, a daughter of Hendrik Egidius Simons and Wilhelmina Johanna Severina Pansier. Abraham Hartog then was employed as salesman. He moved to Den Haag on 4 February 1924 and lived at Van Swietenstraat 118. On 3 May 1935, Abraham and Catharina moved over to Badhuisweg 305 in Scheveningen.
Abraham passed away in Den Haag in the morning of 4 November 1942 at 10 o'clock. His wife Catharina Simons died that same day 4 November 1942 in Den Haag at 12:30 hours. She was 55 years of age.
