Isaac Witmont was a son of Michael Witmont and Betje Jas. He married 5 July 1923 in Amsterdam Sara Roodenbug, a daughter of Abraham Roodenburg and Rachel Cohen.
Sara Roodenburg was previously married to her cousin Joseph Roodenburg, a son of David Roodenburg and Hendrika Engelsman, to whom she was wed 25 August 1915 in Zaandam. On 27 November 1916 their daughter Hendrika was born in Amsterdam. The marriage however ended in a divorce on 30September 1921.
After the divorce in 1921, Sara and her daughther Hendrika remained at Weesperstraat 55 3rd floor, where she came living with her 1st husband Joseph Roodenburg in July 1917. In July 1923 Isaac Witmont came living in there too but the Witmont family moved to house nr. 53 1st floor in the same street on 3 July 1929.
Isaac Witmont was exempted from deportation since 3 August 1942. He was a streetmarket vendor at Gaaspstraat and worked for the Jewish Council for the food supply. Also his wife Sara had a "Sperre" but at the time of the mandatory registration at the Jewish Council, her health situation was described as "she was a "nerve patient". Both were taken to Westerbork on 26 May 1943 where they had to stay in barrack 60. On 25 January 1944 both were put on transport to Auschwitz and on arrival there 28 January 1944 they were immediately killed.
