David Casoetto, tailor by trade, born 16 February 1857 in Amsterdam as son of Moses Casoetto and Hanna Coelho, married in Amsterdam 22 June 1882 Betje Salomons, born in Amsterdam on 30 January 1854 as daughter of Mozes Philip Salomons and Leentje Marcus Baggers.
The couple had six children, namely Anna in 1883, Maurice in 1885, Helena in 1886, Maria in 1890, Samuel in 1892 and Philip in 1894, all born at Amsterdam. The family lived at Nieuwe Prinsengracht 56 but per 29 September 1894 that became Kerkstraat 404. On 24 August 1895 the complete family left Amsterdam for Antwerp, where they came living at Lange Ruischbroecstraat 110. More remvals followd: the family lived i.e. in 1904 at Museumstraat 36 in Borgerhout and in November 1928 David and his wife lived at Wilrijkschevest 72.
Of the six children of David And Betje, five have survived the war. Only the unmarried Maria, was killed in Auschwitz on 15 Augustus 1942.
In the first half of the years of 1930, David and Betje lived at Markgravelei 90 in Antwerp, were Betje Salomons passed away, still before the war on 5 May 1938. From 6-13 April 1940 David Casoetto was hospitalized at Elisbeths Gasthuis in Antwerp. After his discharge he went to Louisastraat 5 in Antwerp; presumably after the passing of his wife Betje, he went living there. David Cassoeto passed away there, just afther the outbroke of the Second Worl War, on 18 May 1940.
