Frouke van Delft, born in Wildervank on 22 February 1885, was a daughter of Marcus David van Delft and Saartje Spier. She married 14 December 1908 in Wildervank the merchant from Amsterdam, Gompert Rood, a son of Salomon Rood and Rebecca Schellevis. The couple had two daughters, namely Rebecca in 1909 and Selma in 1913. Both the daughters and their families were killed in the Shoah. Gompert Rood passed away 12 June 1934 in Amsterdam and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Muiderberg.
Frouke van Delft remarried 2 November 1927 the widower of Hanna van Emden, Zacharias van Praag, diamond polisher by trade, who was born 25 April 1873 in Zaandam. He had three children from his previous marriage, namely Rozette, Susanna and Louis van Praag. Only Rozette was killed in the Shoah; Susanna and Louis survived the Holocaust. Zacharias van Praag however passed away after ten years of marriage on 24 November 1937 in Amsterdam and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Muiderberg.
Frouke van Delft married a third time; on 18 June 1941 she married in Amsterdam Levie de Jong, a son of Salomon de Jong and Leentje Leydesdorff. Levie de Jong was married in 1908 in Groningen to Jetta Schillo, with whom he had two sons: Salomon and Jacob Leo. They were both killed in the Shoah with their families. Jetta Schilo passed away 2 November 1939 and was interred too in the Jewish Cemetery in Muiderberg.
Frouke van Delft and Levie de Jong lived in 1941 at Zuider Amstellaan 60 ground floor in Amsterdam but their marriage ended by a divorce 12 February 1942. After the divorce, Levie lived at Christiaan de Wetstraat 25 1st floor in Amsterdam East and Frouke at Jekerstraat 28 1st floor in Amsterdam South.
Levie de Jong was “gesperrt” – exempted from deportation by the Jewish Council: since 14 Augtust 1942 he was employed at the Jewish Council with distribution of food, bread supply, administration and at the general service. He was arrested and carried off to Westerbork during the big raid of 20 June 1943 in Amsterdam, and had to stay in barrack 63. On 6 July Levie was deported to Sobibor and on arrival there 9 July 1943 he was immediately killed.
Frouke van Delft was brought to Westerbork 18 May 1943, stayed in barrack 70 but that same day already put on transport to Sobibor. On arrival there 21 May 1943, Frouke has been immediately killed.
