Mozes van Gelder, born in 1910 in Dedemsvaart (municipality of Avereest), was a son of Benjamin van Gelder and Johanna Mogendorff. On 23 June 1937 he married in Den Haag Marianne Salomon who was born there in 1909 as daughter of Michel Salomon and Ester van Straaten. The couple had a son on 18 October 1939 in Amsterdam, named Benjamin.
Mozes van Gelder stayed in 1931 in Rijssen and was registered 6 May 1932 in Den Haag, where he lived in with “Eljon” at Gedempte Burgwal 3a. He worked in Den Haag and Rotterdam as shop assistant. In June 1933 he moved to Rotterdam, where he lived at four different addresses and on 30 July 1934 he went to Amsterdam where he among others lived in with “Hiegentlich” at Nieuwe Hoogstraat 9a. After his wedding in June 1937 Mozes and his wife Marianne Salomon moved in at the address Nieuwe Hoogstraat 12 ground floor.
In Amsterdam Mozes van Gelder was employed as messenger and he was a propagandist, however it is not known for what and for whom he propagated. On 17 March 1942 again a removal followed, now to Nieuwe Prinsengracht 100 ground floor, from where he with his wife and child was taken 15 September 1942 to Westerbork. Already three days later, on 18 September the family was put on transport to Auschwitz. On arrival there on 21 September 1942, they were immediately killed.
